A couple of years ago I was asked why I did not have a "we back the badge" sign up in my store.

Did I not support the police?

I said, sure I did when they are doing or even trying to do the right thing. But that I did not blindly support anything or anyone.

I do not expect the police to be perfect. There was only one perfect person and look what they did to Him. And I will give people the benefit of doubt as much as I can as long as they are, in general, trying to do right.

But police culture has taken a very wrong turn. Maybe it is all the TV shows but something has gone sour. And I know people get upset and claim it is no big deal but I really hate it when the police call citizens "civilians". Unless they are MP's they are civilians too. Police are not the military.
