Like opposing fans chanting ‘Margo’ at Wade Boggs, throwing small inflatable toy trash cans on the field for the Astros, and throwing syringes (without needles) at players caught using steroids.
And I’m sure there are other examples. Way back when, fans throwing marshmallows on the field at Billy Martin (there’s an obscure reference!).
Anderson is no Jackie Robinson.
Anderson would have gotten into a fight at the first racist insult he got—in a day when the racist insults were in your face—no subtle references.
Then he would have been kicked out of baseball.
Better to be called Jackie” than “jerk-off”.
