“ And we care because?”
Because when people get to mars and land there their equipment and vehicles will need to be built to withstand the effects of marsquakes like those recorded as well as the low pressures and temperatures they will encounter. Gathering such data as the magnitude of these marsquakes will help prepare explorers and possibly help keep them safe.
