They ignored one of the unalterable laws of basketball. A team has x number of possessions per game. Those possessions are allotted to players according to player value. You can’t have more than 2 1/2 superstars or there won’t be enough touches.
Add princesses like lebron and Russell and you’ve got a chemistry problem.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns, despite having a couple of high-pay guys, have a top eight that includes Jae Crowder, Michael Bridges, Cameron Johnson, and Cameron Payne. Not one, but TWO centers who won rings turned down higher pay to play with the team-oriented suns (Biambo and McGee).
Aging superstars that can’t stay on the court. Father time remains undefeated.
You can build with a bunch of superstars. The Warriors certainly added stars, and the 2nd itteration Lebron Cavs did. But you need the buy in. Also you need folks to stay healthy. Taking a star out or putting one in takes time for the team to gel and work out their rhythm. When injuries are randomly doing that to you the team never gets that time.
