TRIBUTES have been paid to a young student who died suddenly earlier this week.
Popular Michael 'Mikey' Hynes, 22, passed away on Tuesday.
His death notice reads: "The death has occurred of Michael (Mikey), age 22, at his home, predeceased by his grandparents J.J. Hynes, Larry and Annie Kerrigan (Belmullet, Co. Mayo).
"Deeply missed by his heartbroken, loving family, parents Declan and Annette, sisters Katie, Alison and Corinna, his granny Teresa (Hynes), aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and his beautiful bunch of friends.
"Mikey will repose at the family home in Whitegate (V94 KH5X) on Saturday April 9th, from 12 noon with Prayers at 8pm.
"Funeral Mass on Sunday, April 10th, in St. Flannan's Church, Whitegate at 1pm with burial afterwards in Clonrush Cemetery.
"Donations, if desired, to Pieta House/Darkness into Light, www.darknessintolight.ie."
Mikey was a 4th year business student at the University of Limerick.
UL President Prof Kerstin Mey shared the sad news in an email on Wednesday.
According to the Limerick Leader, it read: "I am so very sad to inform you of the sudden and tragic death of UL student Michael Hynes, Whitegate, Co Clare who was a year four Bachelor of Business Studies student," she said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s parents Declan and Annette and his sisters Katie, Alison and Corinna.
"Our sympathies also go to Michael’s BBS classmates and to his UL and Whitegate GAA teammates along with all of his wide circle of family and friends."
A number of people have paid tribute to Mikey and sent their condolences to his heartbroken family.
Whitegate Camogie wrote on Facebook: "Whitegate Camogie Club wish to extend our heartfelt sympathies to Declan, Annette, Katie, Ali, Corinna and all the Hynes and Kerrigan family on the sudden passing of Michael.
"Our hearts are heavy with sympathy. May he rest in peace with the angels."
Mountshannon Community Council said: "We offer our deepest sympathy to Annette, Declan, Katie, Alison, Corinna, Theresa, extended family and friends on the sad passing of Michael.
"Suaimhneas síoraí d’anam milis Mhichíl."
Another person wrote: "Heartbreaking and so sad. May God bless and give you all strength to keep going.
"Rest in peace to a beautiful and young man."
Someone else wrote: "Such a loss of this gorgeous young man, sincere condolences to his loving family and friends, RIP Mikey."

Used to be when they didn’t mention a cause with a young death, it was pretty much safe to conclude suicide and nothing else. The “Darkness into Light” request for donations seems to indicate that this too was a suicide. Had it not been for that, it’s 50/50 these days as to whether it’s suicide or vaxx-induced heart attack.

I might add Overdose as a possibility as well. Where I live young people are overdosing on fentanyl laced pot.

Dude, you should post suicide hotline numbers and suicide prevention website links along with your continuing “sudden death” postings.

No, I don’t. But while you’re doing constant Google searches for “sudden deaths” you could also search for suicide prevention sites. And, considering all the overdose deaths, while you’re at it also include searches for anti-drug sites.
Died suddenly is the biggest cause of death lately. The democrats/communists are so happy.
