When you purchase a firearm and if you carry it, you need to practice situational awareness. Further, if you don’t get training or go to the range, you may not respond properly when attacked. Understanding the nature of threats and the latest advances in bad guy tactics helps to keep you alive and a step ahead of the game.

I think it is meant to show how delusional some people are, and how reluctant they will be in admitting the truth. No matter the science and proof, these people will not change because they are ashamed of being so wrong, and so close their eyes to the evidence.
