I can’t argue about the 19th... and I think property owners should get TWO votes. I’m tired of apartment dwellers voting to raise property taxes they don’t pay.
I’d also go along with the federal tax qualification, although it would cut out a lot of senior votes.
Renters do pay property tax via their rent payment. They may not know that, but they do.
Renters pay the property taxes of the owners. Rich liberals will buy a piece of property and sell small parcels to other liberals for minimal cost. Unless of course you want a minimum value to vote, let’s make it a dollar more than your property is worth.
Actually apartment dwellers do pay property taxes indirectly with their rent payments. A smaller slice of the share but they pay too. So if they want to ‘sock it to the rich landlords’ in voting for higher taxes for them guess who gets to pay higher rents?
