Interesting. The Titanic angle. Very cryptic.

I was absolutely flabbergasted when that commie Merkel announced the termination of Germany’s nuclear programs. Whatever her sinister reasons for doing that were, it must be regarded as one of the most bone-headed strategies ever, utter stupidity. What relatively self-sufficient country would work to diminish that self-sufficiency.

And yes I know that the political party currently in power here in the USA is doing exactly that over here. But there are several ways to remove politicians from power and none of them are pleasant .. for the politician.

They are reaching limits on two-dimensional structures. Three dimensional chips are the next frontier.

Intel Corporation, stylized as intel, is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

America - executives of the world plus supporting service industries. Once upon a time, Silicon Valley was meant to be a place of manufacturing due to the abundance of silicon. In the 1980s it was. Now it's humongous office buildings for google, facebook, Intel etc.

AMD had one in Dresden I think. Not unusual for chip fabs to locate in Germany.

Anyone want to comment on how US regulations, especially by the EPA, makes it impossible to do any new manufacturing in the US?

Your comment is stupid. It is not "impossible". It's true there is a cost associated in all countries complying with regs etc. For example if it costs 1/4 of 1 percent more to comply in the USA than in country X then the bean counters will reject building in the USA and go X. Good bye all the construction and future jobs in the USA to "save" 1/2 of 1 percent. Bean counters are stupid myopic fools. This is why we need tariffs.

And you think my comment is stupid. Yeah, let's put a tax on millions of US customers so we can protect one company that wants to continue being inefficient.

Who better to pay taxes than those buying foreign made goods using foreign labor? I guess a good globalist comrade like you loves the income tax. To me the best tax of all is the tariff just ask George Washington. So listen up and I will try to teach you something important - domestic US companies will compete with EACH other behind a protective tariff. So do you get it you econ reprobate?

Yep, nothing's changed in the intervening 250 years, you economic twit. Protective tariffs made sense back then; not today. I'm a conservative, retired, university Ph.D. prof who taught econ for four decades--one of a few conservative economists left. So, if you want to debate economic policy, know beforehand your going to a gun fight with a squirt gun.

And you are a complete globalist economic dumbas$$. What you did as a "professor" was malpractice and IMO almost criminal. Thank God you are not preaching your anti American destructive globalist economic BS anymore.

How would you know what I did? Typical knee-jerk twit who should keep his mouth shut and let people think you’re stupid rather than open it and remove all doubt. Take your squirt gun, go home, and STFU. I’m done with empty-headed, non-thinking, twits like you.

No, it's because the people who are smart enough to make the policies don't listen to idiots like you. Stop and think for once: If you're idea is such a great policy to follow, why aren't we doing it? It's because people with more than one neuron still firing don't listen to those whose neurons died long ago.
