Thanks for this - I was laughing out loud .... my cousin is a symphony quality cello player (sent it to her) & Pachelbel is probably one of my very favorite pieces ... London Symphony is the version I like best. I actually had a London Symphony album (back in the good old days) with Pachelbel on it & I think I about wore it out. A friend on mine named her dog ‘Canon’ - she loved Pachelbel, too. :-)

It’s true, it’s everywhere in music. I can catch it every time...

I may be the only one, but, to me, Canon is the most repetitive, boring piece of "Classical" music I know. I just can't listen to it anymore.

When taco bell came out with a big burrito called “The Bazooka”, I renamed it “Taco Bell’s Cannon.”

The cello is the heartbeat of the piece.

I actually use Pachelbel’s Canon (transposed to C) to teach kids how to Improvise melodies on Piano & Guitar. I play it on Bass, which is as boring as playing it on cello.
The kids always come up with something new.

Pachelbel’s Canon.
I prefer it played by using a bat to bash in the sheet music til it’s pulpy, then put in a firepit and burned. Then the remains dumped in acid until they are gone.
For clarity, I use to play in a handbell choir and we played the Canon in D many many many times. It’ got to a point where we all declared we would never play it again...and we didn’t
