The lawsuit contends that Christopher and Roberta Laundrie concealed that their son had confessed to the murder from investigators and Petito’s parents while the search for Gabby Petito was ongoing.

If you’re going to commit murder, crossing state lines was the best possible choice, because federal prisons are nice and you can explore your personal interests more.
Wake me up when Alec is in prison.
Btw where is that Fauci guy?
Brer Fauci, he lay low.
no accessory after the fact???
They were both crazy. They deserved each other.
That was just one sad story all around.
I hope they succeed.....
I would plead deal on location an security level of prison. Just juessing, local jail for 20 years would be out of the question. I prefer A small town jail as a trustee. They would get more $ out of me in labor than they spent. If I thought about such stuff. Just saying. Better way for that 0.1% prison population.
No prison if your’re dead.
As I understand it, you’re safer in a federal institution because they have higher budgets and they also have budgets for you to take classes and explore your personal interests. However, you’re trading a more fulfilled life within a prison with an almost non-existent parole system.
The advantage of state prison is that states don’t have a federal budget, so they have to give parole more often. However, for that greater chance of parole, you’re accepting a higher risk within the prison over your sentence and you don’t have as many facilities within the walls.
If I accused of a serious crime, and I knew that I was probably going to prison over it, I’d probably try and cross state lines so it becomes a federal crime. I may as well make the most of my opportunity.
They have to prove that in court. I believe some states don’t even have that charge.
That’s true, but I’m not the type to commit suicide. I think I can stand a federal prison sentence more than I can taking my life.
i dint know that
Interesting. Granted I live in a small town. I understand your.opinion.
How do they plan to prove he confessed to his parents?
Since the parents were not criminally charged, the evidence - if any - must be very thin.
I suspect the perp’s parents will settle to avoid discovery.
The murder would be a state crime, and you would do that time first, in a state prison.
If her boyfriend got life without parole, the feds would not even prosecute.
If he was eligible for parole, then the feds would probably prosecute.
Does anyone think these people have millions to payout in settlement money?
