With global warming, how were they to know the weather would be bad? I just wish the learned weather experts could forecast 48 hours ahead as well as they can 100 years ahead.

Well...honestly...you do NOT want to climb Mt. Hood in summer...we live about 60 miles away...a security guy we know has climbed it oh, 30+ times A YEAR. And, yes, weather conditions can change quickly.
