COLWYN BAY, Wales (WKRC) — A coroner report shows a personal trainer died of a caffeine overdose due to a measuring mistake.
Tom Mansfield, 29, had bought a 3.5 oz. bag of caffeine powder from British sports supplement company Blackburn Distributions.

Looks like the mfgr and consumer took a lackadaisical approach to dosing accuracy. This is why so many people OD on Fentanyl. It's not something to take likely.
But, in his last hour, he completed everything he planned to do for the next 5 years.

See the problem here. Who the heck knwos waht an “mg” is?
Coffee has much more than 2-4 mg caffeine per liter. NoDoz pills are 200 mg each - which are not 50- liters coffee equivalent. Also, the article mixes oz and grams, making it hard to check.
I just responded on another thread about fentanyl pushers being considered mass murderers.
I guess Starbucks is a mass murderer.

A lot of folks don’t understand that substances like caffeine and nicotine are natural insecticides, their plants’ means of killing the insects that might otherwise snack on them. At a massive enough dose, what’ll kill a beetle might kill you.
Black coffee is very healthy and you will not have to worry about overdosing. Kind of hard to drink 200 cups!

The high end 300mg dose is about 0.01 ounce. He used 0.2, or 20 times the highest recommended dose. Ouch.
It appears he was from Wales so the FDA warning doesn’t apply to him.
Buying wholesale drugs in powdered form IS NOT for the mathematically challenged!
