I remember Andy Granatelli and his STP Indy Car, with Tom, from back in the 60s &n 70s. Any relation?
I was on the BFG IMSA Camel-GT Racing Team, doing tire testing (I only had a Class C SCCA license, so I couldn’t do wheel-to-wheel racing; needed a Class A SCCA license for that), in their new Porsche 962 (US) /957 (Europe), back in the mid-late-70s and early 80s.
“Most fun I’ve had with my clothes on.” — me. Heh.
Vince was Andy’s son who built a Shop in North Phoenix 1994.
Great shop !
.
I remember IMSA at Mid Ohio
, Camel GT , I think.
Good times.
Wasn’t the Turbine Indy car on it’s way to win the Race when a bearing failed ?
I was a cable guy,
Radios,Data Guy and pit gear all needed wireing.
From the truckers CB to the
Driver’s Helmet I had the tools and technique.
