The side that will destroy the alleged US biolabs in Ukraine?

The world would be a safer place with fewer White Coats

[Putin is just trying to establish buffers for Russia as protection from invasion why Russia is still strong enough to take them.]

Russia is the size of the next largest countries on earth combined. If Russia’s not big enough, it will never be big enough.

You should try reading the resolutions of succession passed by the states that seceded. You know, the legal documents stating the basis of secession, and declaring themselves independent. Anyone who claims that the desire to preserve slavery had nothing to do with the reasons for secession is historically ignorant.

Ah, partisans of the War of Southern Treason to Preserve Slavery speak. I am sure you will now deny all of the speeches and documents at the time and say it was about “states rahts.” 😂 I love my southern fellow citizens but you are wrong on history.

Ukraine. You dumb ass. I’ve been arguing for years that Russia was reasonable to annex Crimea, or support separatists in Luhansk and Donetsk. But Kiev?

I guess regions of the former soviet empire are a lot like "Lays" potato chips.

No one can eat just one.

Kiev has been the spiritual center of the rus people for hundreds of years. It was not the political center, however. The Ukraine was part of Russia for 200 years. The US, on the other hand, unilaterally annexed Hawaii, declared wars against
Iraq (second war) and Iran (put the Shah in control), and has rarely seen a dictatorship it wouldn’t support. (Batista in Cuba, 1979 civil war in El Salvador)...

“Does it make any sense at all to go to war with people you despise so that you can bring them under the umbrella of your federal jurisdiction?”

Yes if you can exploit and further punish them. It’s a type of sadism.

Look how they react today whenever the scary “far right”, whom they hate, talk about secession. You would think they would want us gone, but they prefer keeping us knucled under.

Same goes for blacks and whites.

7 states seceded peacefully. Then Lincoln attacked one of them. That is the accurate history.

We've all been led to believe that they attacked first, but the truth is that Lincoln sent a fleet of warships to attack them before they had ever fired a cannon.

It was because those warships started arriving off the coast of Charleston that the Confederates attacked Sumter.

They waited to see if Lincoln's threat to send warships to subdue them was real, and when they received proof that those ships were indeed coming to attack them, they neutralized the fort so they would not face attacks from both the ships and the fort at the same time.

I bet you didn't know any of this and you are now asking yourself, "What the H3ll is this guy talking about? I've never heard that before! Must be some kind of nut or something. Surely my government wouldn't lie about what happened? "

>> Once a state declares independence, they have a right to self-determination <<

. Odd, your slavery-loving Confederate heros certainly didn't agree with those ”principles”, as they refused to recognize the newly formed state of West Virginia during the Civil War, and continued to claim all the former counties of Virginia as part of the CSA, including the ones that had declared Independence from Virginia and proclaimed themselves the state of West Virginia. They also claimed to "represent” the people of those counties in the CSA.

BTW, in answer to how long it took Israel to be recognized after they declared Independence, the answer is the very same day. The State of Israel was declared and President Truman and the U.S. Congress recognized them the very same day.

I thought that up this morning while watching the news. It occurred to me what Russia is doing is not any different from what Lincoln did.

I'm guessing there was very little actual "thought" involved there.

Just the same knee-jerk reaction you have to every other story that comes your way.

My current understanding is that Lincoln only won the presidency because the banksters funded him to the tune of $Millions, while Douglas had $5000. Banksters have been running the country ever since (for the most part).

Have you ever heard of "brownshirts"? I'm sure you've heard of ANTIFA.

Lincoln had deep connections with the Railroad corporations. (Which he rewarded greatly in 1862 with the Railroad act.)

Lincoln used these connections to bring in by rail car thousands of "bully boys" to intimidate, bribe and harass the delegates to the Chicago convention in 1860.

At the time, William Seward (highly respected governor of New York) was expected to get the nomination hands down. He was by far the favorite pick of the delegates.

When Lincolns hired goons showed up, they threatened, they bribed, they shouted down, they physically blocked, and anything else of which they could think to make certain that Seward did not win the nomination on the first ballot.

Lincoln's men offered powerful government jobs or other government controlled goodies to delegates that would support him.

Washington DC was corrupt before Lincoln arrived, but he ramped up the corruption to another level.

I usually take posts like these, where the poster attacks the OP's character or mental abilities without providing any contextual or supporting facts, figures, or logic, as indicative of the weak position of the attacking poster.

This type of post does nothing to influence the opinions of others.

Thanks for that info. It’s right on.

What spooks me a bit is that “honest abe” was supposedly the founder of the Republican party. OTOH, the upper echelons of the Republican party is Deep State Controlled Opposition, as we see today in the likes of the Liz Cheney’s and Turle McConnells and Myth RomEny’s.

Diogenes and I have a long history with each other. He is always out to bash Lincoln and defend the slavers. If you like, you can seek out my earlier posts which contain plenty of "facts, figures, and logic." Or you could read the other posts on this thread which point out his the illogicality of his argument.

At this point, I've gotten very tired of him getting on his hobby horse at every opportunity and recognize that he's not going to be convinced by any "facts, figures, or logic." At this point, dismissal and ridicule aren't uncalled for. If you seriously think he has a strong argument for his fantasy, then that is your own problem.

You must ignore the fact the institution of slavery was so repugnant to democracy that the Confederacy was desperate to export slaves to the West, because they were convinced that if they did not, there would be a terribly bloody uprising; and that they attacked the North; and that their goal in defeating the North was not their own sovereignty, but to secure the West as theirs.

All of that is wrong. Let me give you a clue that you've been lied to about the history.

This is a modern cotton map. The cotton produced in West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California can only be produced due to modern irrigation systems.

Those systems did not exist in 1860. It was literally impossible to create cotton plantations (by far the most significant use of slaves) in the territories.

Slavery was not and could not "expand" into the territories because it was economically impossible to do anything significant with them in the territories.

If you look up the history of "New Mexico territory" (when it stretched from Texas to California) it says there were less than a dozen slaves in the entire region.

The way you cite Batistia and El Salvador, you sound strangely like a Soviet propagandist. Batista had Castro’s forces surrounded, and we told him that if you move into to capture or kill Castro’s forces, we’d cut off aid to him. So he let them go, just forcing them to give up their arms. And then we cut off aid anyway. And then we did absolutely nothing while the Soviets re-armed Castro’s forces.

“I guess not having slaves any more must really ticks some folks off.”

Slavery was the EXCUSE for our civil war, robbery was the motive.
