I look at name recognition. If Abbott who has name recognition, were to lose to Huffines, or West, I think that gives Beto an advantage.
Not everyone follows the candidates, their platforms, past votes. Many people decide when they get in the voting booth.
Sad, but true. Not happy with Abbott, but West will get the carpetbagger label, and Huffines the used car salesman label or Catholic label.

I think Beto and many Dems are in for a rude shock: the Latinos in the Rio Grande Valley will likely vote R more than ever this year. Beto doesn’t stand a chance.

If Cisneros is unseated in his primary, it will be due to the moderate and conservative Latinos bolting from the Democratic Party. AOC is behind Cisneros’s challenger. That race will be fun to watch for the story it will tell.
