I worked in Vancouver for a number of years. It was (pre Hong Kong invasion) a big small town.
There was a gentry and they all knew each other. Thick as thieves. My boss was one of them, living in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood and attended the private schools.
Margaret was a daughter of one elite family, the Sinclairs.
The well heeled used to refer to her (not in favourable terms) as "that Sinclair woman!" A blight on her family and the Vancouver society. Always made me laugh!
