I don’t know much about Manilow’s politics, as he’s a very private person. But Andy Williams’ “Born Free” has always been one of my favorite songs, with lyrics that speak directly about personal liberty. I’ve spent time searching YouTube for various versions of it, as it’s been covered by many and one day stumbled upon a clip of Manilow speaking glowingly about it before singing it at one of his shows.

If those words are true to his heart, he may actually be on Rogan’s side on the issue. I found this about a recent Christmas concert of his, that did not require vaccinations, as well.

I saw him in concert many years ago, a girl that I was dating wanted to see him. I was impressed by his performance. He has always struck me as a pretty good guy.

From what I’ve read Barry is managed by his “husband” Garry Kief, who was also his manager when they were only dating.

Whatever you think of Barry Manilow (who is a great showman), he knows he has a very broad, intergenerational fan base. He’s too smart to join Neil Young’s effort to cancel Rogan. People who don’t like Rogan are fans of Manilow’s, and so are people who like Rogan.
Diamond and Manilow are both Brooklyn boys.
my wife and I went to Manilow’s farewell tour about ten years ago.
He did compose a number of them. (One Voice, for example.)
One of Manilow’s best compositions, IMO, was to a lyric by the late Johnny Mercer. It’s “When October Goes.” Wonderful song.
I think you are 100% correct.
I would however add that Neil Young and Barry Manilow were major artists in the 1970s. Forget their politics, personal lives or whatever. They sold records particularly Manilow and were well known. The fact that today’s generation that grew up on 1990s forgettable slop doesn’t know who they are doesn’t mean much.
