Police arrested Burnett on New Year’s Day at Saks Fifth Avenue, 700 North Michigan. Prosecutors said he took a $1,250 jacket from a display, put it on, and walked out the door. He was also carrying a so-called “booster bag,” which is a bag wrapped in aluminum foil that’s designed to defeat the store’s security measures, according to prosecutors.
He’s charged with felony retail theft. Prosecutors said most of his 12 felony convictions are also for theft and retail theft.
“There’s not going to be an I-Bond here,” Marubio replied. Instead, using the value of the allegedly stolen jacket as her guide, she set bail at $1,500. Burnett must post 10% of that to get out of jail. He will earn a $30 per day credit for every night he’s in custody, so he can expect to get out of jail by Wednesday.

If he cannot make it to Floride for the winter, his standard practice is to get drunk and find a Dupage Cop and SPIT ON HIM! Ninty days DuPage County jail and winter is over. He says the DuPage County jail is not bad.

When asked if anyone was with her the girlfriend said her BF was in the car.
Illinois had passed a 3-strikes law and he became an accessory.
IIRC he was sentenced to three years.
He was medically released after about two years. When I saw him he looked like a ghost and had lost a huge amount of weight. They do did not know exactly what was wrong?
All in DuPage, in Cook County perhaps a parking while sleeping ticket?
the lawyer and judge should be charged with TWICE
the time for each re-arrest.
TWICE the time.
make the lawyer’s and judge’s families liable to the
stores owners at THRICE the amount.
it will end.
After, I don’t know, the 50th arrest, those government agents who are responsible for a criminal’s future freedom should be held personally responsible for the crimes that person then commits. Because “Who could have possibly seen this coming?” no longer works as a defense.
I he was sentenced to 3 years he did not spend them in the DuPage County lockup. Probably one of the minimum security State prisons.
L
78 arrests!?? Then quit letting him go.
__”Probably one of the minimum security State prisons”
YES!YES!!
Jacksonville and he did not like it.
Excellent ideas, Di.
Lol. Telling government actors that they should have personal responsibility is like saying they should go hunting for gryphons.
He should, move to California and do an honest day’s looting by keeping the thefts under $1000 dollars per robbery
needs to find a $900 coat at a CVS in California
That!
The ME is right on chopping off thieves’ hands.
“ Jacksonville and he did not like it.”
Neither did my brother.

Gee, I was so sure he was a lily-white Amish guy.
Maybe not a thousand words but considerable and most not good.
