High point makes a cheap 9mm or .45 carbine for less than $300. Yes its a high point but its suprisingly accurate.

Indeed, I saw a fairly decent review on it, IIRC.

I own a High Point 9mm carbine. It is too much fun and much more accurate than I anticipated.

Over a decade ago, I read an article that compared three 9mm carbines, a Beretta, a Taurus and a High Point. The Beretta and the Taurus were basically their military submachine guns modified to shoot semiautomatic. To the astonishment of the author, the High Point won in all categories except for trigger pull and visual (it is pretty ugly). The trigger pull can be improved, but it will always be ugly.

I have the Hi-Point carbine in .45, and I love it. Got it barely (50 shots) used for $375 not long ago, which included a sling, 7 mags (incl 2 20s) and a scope. It is very accurate, easy to disassemble and clean, and has about zero felt recoil.

I have a Hipoint 9mm and you are correct that it is accurate out to 100m.we were at the range yesterday and hitting a 9” steel plate at 100m consistently. The only problem is some feed issues.

Have loved my Highpoint 9mm since 1999...
It gets along very well with its older big brothers...
