They can’t rally around Biden on one single issue, so, it’s Jan 6 and Trump and omicron fear porn.
Not one damned thing can they rally support for Biden. Not one thing.
I’m not surprised by it. I would consider text messages as private. But look at how hard they have been trying to get Trump’s tax returns. They should be private too. And they are trying to look into the inner workings of Trump’s business. The media has shown that there is nothing that is off limits to them.

Conservatives generally don't follow leftist media, and don't believe much of it anyway, so it doesn't adversely impact us.
Swing voters have been listening to the Democrats spend all their efforts blasting a guy who is no longer in office, while the rest of the country seems to be circling the drain. It tells them the leftists in government and the media are out of touch with the real problems affecting ordinary Americans, and they're sick of it.
Leftists love it, it reinforces their own biases and further radicalizes them. That has the net effect of further alienating the swing voters, which makes them that much more likely to try to toss leftists in the 2022 midterms.
So yes, it does kind of suck in the abstract. But I think it is probably helping us more than hurting us.

Liz Cheney read text messages to Mark Meadows from various people, all of whom were requesting Meadows have President Trump help & for Trump to stop what was going on at Capitol. The implication being that President Trump could stop what was going on.
Of course the media is playing it up ... Liz Cheney reading the texts vs a Democrat is what made it so “newsworthy” to the MSM. If a Democrat had read those texts, I do not believe there would have been the frenzy. I also think this is but a blip and it’s going to be forgotten in no time.
I truly do not see how it matters. The public either loves or hates Trump . There is nobody on the fence any longer and these leaks will not sway anybody one way or another.

They were sent to the Chief of Staff while he was in the performance of his duties.
Biden declined to shield them under Executive Privilege. Which will have pretty bad consequences when a Republican is again President.
But the issues are 1) Are the messages factual (not fake)? 2) If not fake, what time were they sent? 3) When did President Trump issue his statement?
That is what the media will focus on, not if they were private.
That is a given. They will use everything and anything they can to smear President Trump. And the peanut gallery will aid and abet them mightily.
