Actually I don't either. I was actually referring to the activity that is frowned upon here, of the so called "blog pimps" who only post links to their content on FR to get peg counts for their blogs. The greatest complaint about them is that they do not ever respond to the comments made to them, thus proving they only post to get FReepers to link to them to increase their internet stats.

I enjoyed the song but I had never heard of this sort of Fan-Vid.

I first saw them in 1984 at a Texas Star Trek convention. I became obsessed and ran home to buy the equipment. From then till now, I’ve made 903 of them, and they’re the art of my life. I come from a family of storytellers, and that’s what these are. You take the lyrics of a song and you reinterpret them through a TV show. I’ve given a talk on them at MIT’s Media Lab and been interviewed for several books. After all these years, they still fascinate me.

I can’t imagine creating a blog because I can’t imagine why anyone would care about my opinions on some topic. For quick comments, these threads are wonderful. You both get a wide range of opinions, often including something that makes you stop in your tracks and think. Even the music video threads I’ve put up, I learn SO much from people about the singers or the actors, and often go out searching based on what they say.

As for the links, neither my website links nor my YouTube links are monetized, so numbers of hits are just warm fuzzies. I do respond to all the comments people post on YouTube, as well as comments on my fiction. What’s fun isn’t the posting, it’s the sharing.
