I bet if Donald Trump called you up and asked you to lick battery acid from a car as a charity event to raise funds for Barron’s college, you and a few others would be completely obedient. :-)

Think of the people holding out for natural immunity and forestalling vaccination who are now sleeping with the fishes, pushing dirt. I have a whole list of them, including some notable talk show hosts and pastors, others who made it but only after horrid hospitalization and pleading online that others do not follow their lead. Come on. Get with it. 700,000 Americans are dead. Show some more respect for President Trump and what he was able to do, funded with about $10 billion from the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) that his team enabled and Congress passed .

I’m sorry, but you seem to have me confused with the lemming liberals who do whatever Fauci and Brian “Potato Man” Stelter tell them to. Your comments show that you have no clue about Conservatism and that it is founded on independent thought, independent action, and individual responsibility. That is what makes Western civilization different than the hive mentality of Eastern civilization. In other words, we are not like you - we think for ourselves.

Scratch that: we are not like you - we think.

Me? I just have a difference of opinion with you… You’re not my enemy and I don’t hate you… I can win arguments and maybe occasionally I’ll lose by just sticking to the facts and avoiding personal insults or trying to behave in other non-Christian ways… But that’s just me. Overall, truth be told, there is probably very little that separates you and me, except for the populism and the fascism and the cult mentality seeking an authoritarian to protect ys from the Libs, so there’s common ground for sure, if we sought it.

And I would contend that I engage in considerable independent thought and analysis and “thinking for myself” here on this forum despite the consequences, and which may conflict to 80 to 90% of the viewpoints here or at least what FR has become over the last five years or so… So let’s dial back the Lemming Accusation a bit, shall we? :-)

Thank you very much for the reply! That was my sense, that it is a rare bird in Japan using ivermectin, although I have no proof. The notion among the ivermectin enthusiasts persists. I have tried to dissuade folks from thinking it is widely used there, but, as you can see, with little to no effect:

And who knows what else coming out of The Expose and other nutty sites.

I really appreciate your letting me know my sense was correct.

No, let’s go back to the You’d Do Anything Trump Would Tell You To, Wouldn’t You? accusation that preceded it. I see you fancy yourself something of a gadfly and like to make sniffy judgments about “what this site has become”, which is what I suppose give you license to think you’re an independent thinker, but is really nothing more than being deliberately contradictory and predictably disparaging of Trump supporters. I won’t go any further than that, but I hope you enjoy whatever that smug self satisfaction that brings you in Japan.

I’ve worked in industrial Japan. I don’t see the redeeming qualities that he does. He complied and continues to comply with any govt mandate. That culture naturally complies, and he’s ok with it. That’s not an American quality.

When he pushes that un-American culture here as superior, that’s not acceptable. That’s not a ‘contribution’ as you call it.

You’re ok with it without thinking through it.

No, I’d be quite critical of countries were they didn’t do the right things as well. I’d be critical of quality control and other aspects in Third World nations where they’ve screwed up… So it’s essentially analyzing things from a simple quality control perspective, the same I would do in any kind of business, and considering 18,000 Japanese Covid deaths in a population 38% of the United States standing at 710,000 deaths, in the hospitalization rates etc., I would say the results quite speak for themselves. The USA is number one, unparalleled, in a great many things but it is not number one in everything… Do you differ?

Please defend your contention that the United States has a better record on mitigating Covid (under Trump/Biden) than Japan under its own conservative government, has from a statistical, analytical, and empirical perspective sans any emotions.

I won’t waste my time in arguing anymore… It’s just not a fact regarding ivermectin in Japan… End of story

The problem you have is that you believe in the US government’s official numbers. Prove that those are real.

For example, I’ve watched the unemployment numbers shenanigans for decades. The definition has changed multiple times and the measurements are indirect. So i don’t believe them. Why should I believe covid numbers? Belief in those is the core of your argument. If those numbers can’t be believed, comparisons of numbers can’t be believed. Two different governments collect data differently.

We also have 50 states contributing data, collecting and reporting differently. We can go down even furtger to counties, hospitals, etc. The two country level data sets cannot be compared meaningfully in any way.

By what magnitude do you think it could be off by?? 10 percent? 20 percent? 30 percent?

I would observe this: COVID-19 is now the leading cause of death in the U.S., and the toll continues to rise as cases, hospitalizations and fatalities surge across the country. The complete number may never be known, and on that I would agree with you, even after the pandemic ends, but already it is a staggering number of lives cut short. Fact is, researchers, know beyond a doubt that the number of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. surpassed at least a quarter of a million people by November last year, and that moved into the leading cause by October this year, far surpassing even cancer and heart disease deaths. This number is supported by three lines of evidence, including death certificates. You would agree that it is much, much more than a flu and will be gone by Easter?
