Mark Lehner and Zahi Hawass (the Hat Guy, and lecher) control all of our information of Ancient Egypt ; they are part of the vested Egyptology business, stretching back to the 18th Century. The worst case of historical consensus thinking imaginable.
If you watch the specials on Egypt you will learn virtually nothing about ancient Egypt. What you do learn will only skim the outer fringes and be mostly wrong in any case.
If you want more info, read “Egyptian Dawn,” “The Sphinx Mystery,” “The Crystal Sun,” and “Netherworld” by Robert Temple - unique because he does not simply recount and consolidate various theories, but actually went to the various Giza monuments. He includes many translated papers and articles written a century ago along with copious images of the monuments in detail you will not see on TV. “Giza Power” by Chis Dunn delves into how things were made from an engineering and machinist point of view. Did you know that the Old Kingdom Egyptians did not think as we do (logically), but symbolically?
Thanks a lot for the recommendations. I will have a crack.
I did not know that about thinking symbolically.
