Trump criticizes media for treating Powell 'beautifully' in death

...

Powell was an ardent critic of Trump, particularly after the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol attack. He endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

Following the attack on the Capitol, Powell said he could "no longer call myself a fellow Republican."

“I do not know how he was able to attract all of these people. They should have known better, but they were so taken by their political standing and how none of them wanted to put themselves at political risk. They would not stand up and tell the truth or stand up and criticize him, or criticize others,” Powell said.

Since Powell's death was announced by his family on Monday, a deluge of bipartisan grief and praise for the former White House official has come forth from the Washington establishment.

“I feel as if I have a hole in my heart,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said. “The world lost one of the greatest leaders that we have ever witnessed.”

My biggest problem with Trump’s statement was that he said Powell was a RINO.

How could a RINO not vote for the two biggest RINOs that ever RINOed: McCain and Romney.

Guy was a straight-up Rat all his life, who conned people, just because Bush won in 2000, and that was the only game in town. He would have served Gore as well, if he’d been asked.

Powell was a Deep State turd. His comments/opinions of Trump supporters are laughable, if not offensive.

Sorry to say that I don’t give two sh!ts about his passing.

Yep, and he prided himself on not being a politician, but in the end that's exactly what he was as he astutely played the finger in the wind game. And in the end, the one thing he claimed he stood for, was a con in itself.

Anyone who endorsed Biden is the Deepest of Deep Staters.

The politician’s greatest trick is to convince people that they really aren’t a politician.

He revealed his character when he sat silent while they prosecuted Scooter Libby. He knew the truth, knew it literally from day one, and stood by and let it happen.

...particularly after the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol attack...

Deadly attack? I am continually amazed how the press uses such words here, but were deaf, dumb, and mute when BLM and Antifa were burning a dozen cities to the ground, barricading police in burning buldings, and citizens were shot and killed trying to protect their businesses. Yet, those murderers go free while the Jan 6 protesters are still in jail without bond, some without legal representation, and no trial dates set. Tell me this isn't politically motivated.

Once you get to O-6 to go higher you have to play “politics” both Pentagon & other. So no matter what one might claim above O-6 one is a politician.

Only difference between “Rat” and “RINO” is semantics.

Spot on.

Five or six years ago, I would have been deeply upset with the language and vitriol presently directed against Biden or ANY sitting president of the U.S. by stadium crowds, et al.

But after witnessing what PDJT had to endure every hour of every day of his presidency (and beyond), the gloves are off.

We fought Iraq twice because the first rollover was deemed too efficient and would garner negative world opinion... all this following Powell’s warning to Bush that “if you break it, you bought it.”

Okay we didn’t break it but Powell apparently didn’t approve of a total clean up either... and waved the entire camp-pffft-aign off... Bush went along with it... the rest is history. Schwarzkopf was aghast... But for the most part kept his “WTF’s” closely held.

Maybe they should write about how Colin Powell killed thousands of service men by lying to the UN to get an unnecessary war started in Iraq over a false premise that he knew to be false.

Nah, he said he didn't like Trump so that's all forgotten now.

Powell: “I do not know how he was able to attract all of these people.”

Imagine that. The bought-and-paid-for Powell stunned to discover that average Americans don’t like the Deep State nor the current political class who are robbing the public and putting American soldiers in danger in misguided foreign adventures.

I’m glad Powell went to his grave with a bitter taste in his mouth — and to know he’s on the wrong side of history.
