A poem my son wrote (Vanity)

My son just read this to me. He wrote it. He's 22, and loves his country.

O Lord my God I pray to you today with a heavy heart
These past years, my country has torn itself apart
From bad elections, to phony ballots, to all-out political war
To gender changes, riot rages, and many, many more

Our 'leader', an idiot dictator, whose mind is all but gone
And of those who voted for him, are now seeing they were wrong
Our country is a mess, and because of that I fear
Those of us who believe in freedom won't be able to in coming years
We wish our country to be free, to see our flag fly high
And to see those that protect her, to stand proud and tall with pride

To be able to get along with others, and be allowed a chance to say
"Hi there. How are you? Hope you have a happy day."
But sadly that seems far off in a world we won't see
And if I'm being honest, that thought scares me

So now I pray to you, Lord, for I know You hear me well
Please help my country, AMERICA...
For my country's gone to Hell

Nice poem and from a 22 year old! He’s a puppy that might grow up into a Shakespeare. Keep up the good work!

Very good! I wish we had more 22-year-olds in this country like your son... God bless him.

Plainly you up-armored your boy against the idiocy that passes for thought among his peers. One of my proudest accomplishments is doing the same for my boys, now 25 and 20

He doesn’t mind at all. Thanks for asking.
