Used to be a time thst when it came to Italians and heritage, this country would walk around on egg shells. Now its “fuka-u!”
It isn’t just about Columbus. It is about being ashamed of, if not hating, our civilization. If it hadn’t been Columbus, it would have been someone else, and he would have been demonized. Of course, the people who make the biggest stink are only signaling their supposed virtue. I have never heard of anyone who cries about “stolen land” who gave their portion of it back to the natives, and returned to their ancestral lands.
Hilarity ensues, Artie gets hit by someone, and Tony later goes ballistic that the guys embarrassed themselves.
Just one more demographic the Democrats have decided to jettison. The elderly, blue collar workers, Italians. Entirely anecdotal, but a whole lot more of my Italian friends have moved over to the GOP than my Irish friends. The Irish are still split, mostly along gender lines.
Because of Cristobol, we have today’s modern “hot Latinas”. That gorgeous combination of Indian, Euro and maybe some African flair wrapped up in a golden brown package with a black hair topping that flows down to their beautiful thighs. Russell Means is turning over in his grave. He lived for Columbus Day. He and his sidekick and some rez peeps would come to Downtown Denver to throw manure at our feet and yell as we marched by and Means would give a speech.
I don’t think they would appreciate my name for the holiday: Get Your Lazy Civil Service Asses Back To Work Day You’re the only ones who get the day off and you don’t deserve 11 national holidays when almost everyone else gets 6 at most.
