Unsurprisingly, it has taken very little time for rights groups—most notably GLAAD—to take issue with one of the world’s most powerful entertainment brands paying a very famous comedian millions of dollars to tell these kinds of jokes. GLAAD issued a statement today asserting that, “Dave Chappelle’s brand has become synonymous with ridiculing trans people and other marginalized communities. Negative reviews and viewers loudly condemning his latest special is a message to the industry that audiences don’t support platforming anti-LGBTQ diatribes.”
The world needs a million more Chappelles.
Looking forward to seeing it. That’s the best sales pitch I’ve seen lately.
They went after Eddie Murphy for the same thing after his ‘Delirious’ special made fun of gays.
Murphy has sinced apologized for it.
Agreed.
Chappelle has previously called them “the Alphabet People”
His “Juicy Smoliet, the French Actor” routine was classic.
It’s open season on white people though Dave. Anything about how stupid, selfish, cheap, ugly, racist, homophobic, sexist or goofy we are, works fine! Put us in our place! It’s uproariously funny!!
EVERY joke can be offensive to someone who is looking for offense.
Example:
Q. Why did the chicken cross the road?
A. How dare you expose an animal to danger that way!
“Murphy has sinced apologized for it.”
Poor decision by Eddie.
Libs have no sense of humor
I guess Eddie really wanted that talking donkey part really bad.
Hey, it bought him a Caribbean island...
I love to see the left consuming their own.
They were cheering him when he made some VERY NASTY jokes about GWB on one of his standup “comedy” shows, using explicit language suggesting Bush had performed fellatio on another world leader (I forget which one).
I have zero sympathy for him.
“His chickens have come home to roost.”
“Looking good, Billy Ray!”
They pushed Tim Allen off TV too for awhile.Last Man Standing was a great Show.
“the Alphabet People”
Now that is funny
I went back and watched Tim Allen’s old standup shows a few weeks ago, I laughed so hard. But it’s definitely a bit dated now.
