Actually, the new clerk is on to something. It takes good sense to take a copy of the server's files before the election. It makes so much sense, that it ought to be required by every state to have a pre-election image on file before the polls open, and an image of the voter registration file that will be used.

And the state should make it a requirement in order to certify a Federal election. Even better if a post image copy of the server is required after all ballots are counted. And post election, a copy of the router logs.
