KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — One of the founders of the Taliban and the chief enforcer of its harsh interpretation of Islamic law when they last ruled Afghanistan said the hard-line movement will once again carry out executions and amputations of hands, though perhaps not in public.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi dismissed outrage over the Taliban’s executions in the past, which sometimes took place in front of crowds at a stadium, and he warned the world against interfering with Afghanistan’s new rulers.
“Everyone criticized us for the punishments in the stadium, but we have never said anything about their laws and their punishments,” Turabi told The Associated Press, speaking in Kabul. “No one will tell us what our laws should be. We will follow Islam and we will make our laws on the Quran.”
Executions of convicted murderers were usually by a single shot to the head, carried out by the victim’s family, who had the option of accepting “blood money” and allowing the culprit to live. For convicted thieves, the punishment was amputation of a hand. For those convicted of highway robbery, a hand and a foot were amputated.

Say what you will about the morality of the punishments, but I’m guessing they didn’t have a lot of repeat offenders.
It is their country and culture - it should not be our concern or problem. If we just kept them and their religious cohorts out of the USA, and dealt with such nations from the start on an arms-length basis, all would be well.
But that is impossible with our leftist, globalist, crony-capitalist woke institutions. It would mean first of all having respect and pride in our own western, Christian culture - which our present government and elites do not.
So we are facing an insoluble dilemma.

For “security reasons” indeed - seems to me a government near us has used that one recently as well. Let me see, was it to cancel drone flights at the border or to suppress video evidence that might defend the January 6 political prisoners? Why, it was both, wasn’t it?
The Democrats are jealous of the Taliban’s power over life and death. Don’t kid yourself thinking they wouldn’t simply relish such power. They would be every bit as cruel and vindictive as Genghis Kahn beginning with Bible believing Christians and gun owners.
Can we medically disable one’s arm without taking it off? It would not be cruel and unusual as long as it can be restored. How about norplant for those on welfare?
Imagine how short the george floyd protests would have been had the police been allowed snipers and kill shots only.. the first 2 windows broken would have been the only ones.
