A lot of pressure on young Gandolfini to deliver the goods. Regardless, his dad is proud of him.

I was a huge Sopranos fan. Never missed an episode.
The series is going to be a hard act to follow, Hope this effort is worthy.

I’m looking forward to this film. Glad I get HBO-Max. As to more prequels... sure, if the son can act, why not?
It’s interesting, though, as this is period drama while part of The Sopranos’ charm was that the juxtaposition of mob life and current times.
Period pieces can be well done. Or not. It’s extremely hard to come close to capturing an era 30, 40, 50 years in the past. Something is usually not quite right whether it’s costumes, dialogue, set design, hairstyles, etc.

According to the reviews, this is mostly a movie about Dickie Moltisanti, Christophah’s father - young Tony doesn’t even appear until halfway through the movie and is a somewhat peripheral character. I’ll be watching it, but from all accounts it’s not primarily a Tony Soprano movie.
