Glad he was caught but no mention of how he was identified. Would love to know if they (illegally) used cell phone data to see who was in the area during the time of the assault.
Since there was a pretty clear video of him in the public domain (even though he was wearing a mask), someone who knows and recognized him may have called the cops.
You are allowed to use cellphone data if there is an arrest warrant. SCOTUS decision. But not just to find missing people in general.
