The inability to grasp the simplest of concepts by many is not surprising...
It’s not a double standard. The complaints happen. The ADL whines incessantly. But how often do any of the various genres that get complained about really change? They don’t. Partly because these things happen for a reason. The biggest of which being that law abiding citizens don’t make for good drama. Nobody is gonna make a tense dramatic movie about a baker of any race who’s really just a baker. Cause bakers don’t do anything dramatic.
If there’s any double standard it’s actually Jewish mobsters. Nobody complains about them in movies or TV shows. Ever hear anybody complain about Hesh in the Sopranos? Nope. Nobody complained about Bugsy. Nobody complained about Hyman Roth in Godfather II. Nobody complains about Jewish mobsters.
