The Biden administration has decided that most Americans should get a coronavirus booster vaccination eight months after they received their second shot, and could begin offering third shots as early as mid- to late September, according to administration officials familiar with the discussions.
Officials are planning to announce the administration’s decision as early as this week. Their goal is to let Americans who received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines know now that they will need additional protection against the Delta variant that is causing caseloads to surge across the nation. The new policy will depend on the Food and Drug Administration’s authorization of additional shots.
Officials said they expect that recipients of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which was authorized as a one-dose regimen, will also require an additional dose. But they are waiting for the results of that firm’s two-dose clinical trial, expected later this month.

All aboard the boosters for life train!
Fu€k that shit!!!
They can advise all they want. It’s my consent that matters. I won’t be getting any jabs, so they can take this, and any other booster shots they have planned, and stick them where the sun don’t shine.
I think I will get covid shots no more than once a year, like flu shots. I get a flu shot every year; I’m OK with a covid shot every year, for my age (52).
The demand will be high again soon for the booster—lots of elderly and others more desperate for it will get in line again for it—so likely it will take 12 months in between anyway for supply to be available, for us “younger” folks.
No death serum.
Ping
And the Southern Border’s still open.
I won’t go beyond the NYT’s paywall to read the entire story but if they will REQUIRE that a third shot be the same as the first two, they ONCE AGAIN ARE MAKING A POOR DECISION…IMHO.
Against the Delta variant, the Pfizer vaccine has been showing a drastic reduction in efficacy against detectable infection (although it still shows good efficacy against hospitalization and death). The Moderna vaccine, in contrast, shows far greater efficacy against the delta variant. Individuals who received the Pfizer vaccine as their first two doses should be FREE TO CHOOSE Moderna as their “booster” shot IF THEY CHOOSE TO RECEIVE a booster.
A weary ping.
This will get interesting as I know two people who suffered adverse reactions to the second shot. I can’t see either saying yes to a third. And by adverse reaction, in one case, triple heart bypass surgery was needed.
