I’m Catholic and I’ve been here since April 1998.
I’ve been here for years and never found it a home for bigotry. FR has published material for and against the present Pope. Certainly, there are some who will post, “The Pope is an idiot,” and others who will write “The Pope is a Saint.” You can dump those responses in File X while reading the usual thoughtful appraisals. As for anti-Semitism, in all my years there have been a few posts that have bled through, but the individuals are usually put in their place. Thankfully, the Gaiia, Isis, Astarte, Cybele cultists have not found a home here.
I would guess that after posting something foolish you had your head handed to you. Forget it, move on. Even Plato had his bad days.
If that was your point then why bury the lede? Take a writing class. Print out these exchanges and show them to your teacher. She’ll steer you straight.
