A depraved mind is a depraved mind. Henry Hill of Goodfellas" fame was reportedly bi-sexual. Whitey Bulger was bisexual. I'm sure the list goes on and on. A depreved mind will seek gratification in any way it can.

Any anti-gay position by mafioso is probably closer to that of the top Nazis.

Where to begin? Criminals are people who have problems delaying gratification or thinking ahead to the consequences of their actions. They don't think ahead that far. Incarceration for extended periods doesn't seem like much of a possibility when they start. Also, a lot of them come from criminal cultures/backgrounds and don't consider other life options. And it's possible that if you can easily kill people, maybe conventional ideas of machismo don't matter to you.
