Seeing this picture reminded me of an event said to have occurred during colonial times. A legislature was in session when the sky turned black. (Some now speculate it was a from a gigantic fire). In any case the somewhat panicked group attempted to adjourn. One man stood up and said, “Either this marks the end of the world or it doesn’t. If it isn’t the end of the world there is no need to adjourn, if it is the end of the world I would like the Lord to see us doing our jobs. They stayed in session.
Obviously made of sterner stuff than Texas democrats.
