Biden Administration Suing Georgia Over New Election Law
Daily Caller ^ | 25JUne | Dylan Housman

The Department of Justice announced a suit against the state of Georgia Friday alleging that the state’s recently-signed election law is racially discriminatory.

Georgia’s Election Integrity Act was signed in March by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. The law imposes a voter ID requirement, expands early voting in most Georgia counties, requires that counties have at least one absentee voting drop box and shifts more control over election administration to the state legislature.

I'm thinking this is exactly what Kemp and the rest were waiting for. Pass a sham voter law, that didn't really do anything.

Especially about what really stole the election, mail in voting and drop boxes, and then wait for the DOJ and current administration to show up. Huffing and puffing.

But up a sham defense in court. Wait for the law to get tossed. Shrug their shoulders and say....We tried, but you know, the feds.

Georgia has had VoterID for quite some time. While I've only been down here for 25 years, I don't remember a time where I didn't have to show ID.

Georgia Secretary of State Violated Court Order By Conducting Secret Ballot Inspection and Never Told The Court Or The Plaintiffs ... Things went missing.

Anyone thinks that Kemp, Duncan, Raffensberger, Carr, et al, are going to go down is dreaming. I wish it weren't the case, but nothing will happen.

Georgia doesn’t even have the strictest voting laws in the country. It’s almost like the Dems know they can’t win without cheating in Georgia.

This is the DOJ going after low hanging fruit. Kemp, et al will go down like a house of cards.

DOJ using Georgia as a shot across the bow to other states. Hopefully the other ones have a little more backbone than the clown show in Atlanta.

Georgia Rinos will rollover.

After theatrically defending it.

The GOP did a half hearted attempt 10 years ago and the Courts just blocked them.

They had two years of a trifecta and they did nothing, Trump didn't even give the Kobach Commission subpoena powers. I'm tired of them throwing the fight.

In a sane world, the Feds CANNOT STOP the states from making voter-ID laws. The Constitutio specifies that the STATES run elections. But the Constitution is no longer operative.

I HATE this country, and what it's become. They've destroyed it.

I thought they did issue some subpoenas but they were just ignored.

If so, then why didn’t they pursue it further? Answered my own question, kind of.

Congress also refused to give them adequate funding. Really makes you think.

Maybe the court can rule that the DOJ doesn’t have standing...

All the state Attorneys General should counter sue the Biden administration.

Isn’t that what they should be ruling since all the lawsuits regarding the election were turned down saying the federal courts had no jurisdiction?

I don’t understand this tuck your tail and run attitude, if that is indeed the governor’s plan. Plenty of states require ID to vote and many of those states have large black populations. And many blacks, Republican and Democrat, hold elected office there.

So what does he need to back down for if the Feds are not going after other states with stricter voting laws. Why be remembered in history for being chicken? We will wait and see what Georgia does.

We’re not even going to get “stricter voting laws” out of this whole thing.

Georgia has VoterId. I have to show id every time I vote in Georgia.

They had a chance to get rid of ‘mail in voting’ and the drop boxes. Those things were pulled from the final bill.

They say they’re about to purge 100k from the voter rolls. We’re any of them allowed to vote last year? If they weren’t, did they?

Until proven otherwise, the bill was an attempt to appease the base that voted overwhelmingly for President Trump.

But, at the end of the day the Republicans in the Georgia government are nothing more than a bunch of Country Club, Frat Boys who are puppets to the farmers, developers, and now, Big tech and Hollywood.

It’s a law that is good for America and that can never be good for Democrats.

The Republicans *might* win a few battles, but mail in voting and drop boxes are GOING to be the way voting is done in a lot of the country in the future. Failing to reconcile with this, sticking fingers in the ears and going LALALA VOTER ID LALALALA is not realistic.

Either we figure out how to win when everybody votes or we vanish from history; the absolute MOST that can be achieved is preventing too many people from voting more than once.

I don't know. This is something that people should think about. At the end of the day, Jared and Ivanka weren't the president and Trump could have ignored them. He could/should have fired Jared a long time ago, yet he never did.

After 4 years, Trump didn't really seem to be interested in removing obstacles from his own path. He seemed to always pull his punches.

Maybe Joe Braindead’s DOI (Department of Injustice) should look at the voter laws in Delaware before he decides what other states voter laws are unconstitutional.
