Not to diss Ronnie Wood... but his style just doesn’t match what Mick Taylor could do. Wood helped Jagger write It’s Only Rock n Roll, but the lead guitar-work on that song is all MT and sublime for it (probably my favorite of all his work).
I dunno what Some Girls would have been w/ MT, but it was ALL Stones — so whatever Wood did w/ Richards worked out just fine. But let’s not forget the greatest rock n roll backbone in the world, Watts-Wyman.
