Sounds like it.

They are big suckers and the very first time I encountered one, I had no idea something that disgusting existed. I must have set some kind of record for backward standing broad jump.

Extreme measures

Chicken Moat and tunnels for grubs

Chicken moat is a fenced area around your fenced in garden. The chickens patrol the perimeter.

Chicken tunnels; Some people set up tunnels in the garden walking rows using stiff wire and some sort of cloth cover. Row covers, shade cloth etc.

Sounds like squash vine borer. Happened to me last year. Moschata varieties are more resistant, growing one this year called Zucchetta Tromboncino, dual summer/winter squash, also have had good luck with Tetsukobuto, a moschata x maxima hybrid. Both available Pinetree.

Seminole squash said to be very resistant, very long vines, climbs trees, long growing season.

Don’t know if this will help anyone, but here goes:
Spray Dawn dish soap, diluted, onto plants. Bug chew the leaves, get diarrhea, then die.
Get a 5 gallon bucket and fill with water, put a package of Reman chewing tobacco in it and let it sit in the sun. Spray that on your plants.
Marigolds keep away nemotodes.
Mothballs keep cats and such out of your garden. Throw a few here and there.

Sounds great!!:) The only problem is chickens eat the good bugs (ladybugs, etc.) too.

This years crop will be.....marijuana. Deer are just about the only major pests. Besides people. I can legally grow 4 plants.
My son had a hemp farm and he wanted to change over so I am the beta site. We have to figure out feeding and tolerance to weather

Get chewing tobacco and soak it in water. Pour the water on the ground where the squash will go. Nicotine is deadly.

I think marijuana should still be illegal except for medical purposes. I don’t think anyone should have ever gone to prison for it though. They should have just been fined or something, and had the marijuana in their possession taken away.

I HATE marijuana used by anyone without a medical related problem because marijuana gives people a no-care attitude, etc.

There is no real definitive reaction to Weed. Sativa is sometimes called “cleaning weed” because it can make you hyper and focused. Indica is more of a sedative and can help you get to sleep.
The stoner aspect of Weed is due to overuse. It’s similar to people who drink all day or do other drugs. If that is all you do all day, you will be worthless.
I take CBD to help me stay asleep. CBD helps with that whole “I can’t get back to sleep” issue. I’m trying to dose with Delta-8 to help put me to sleep.

I will always hate marijuana, cbd, hemp, etc. except for medical purposes as you do.
