Piers Morgan has sensationally quit Good Morning Britain hours after the launch of a social media campaign which saw more than 40,000 complaints made to Ofcom.
The tough-talking morning show host, who has helped rocket the ITV show to its highest ever viewing figures, received a backlash on Twitter after saying he 'didn't believe a word' of Meghan Markle's bombshell Oprah interview - in which the Duchess said she felt like she 'didn't want to be alive anymore'.
Today the UK's television regulator announced it would launch an investigation into the comments following a flurry of complaints - driven by a social media campaign against the former newspaper editor.

Men should not be as interested in the British royals as Piers Morgan is. I have no idea why he chose to quit rather than take a contract buyout, though. If the wokesters want you gone, make them pay you to leave.

I have issues with Piers but the Hollywood types have jumped upon to defend the wonderful, happening, glorious Meghan Markle that we all should aspire to be.
I have always wondered if he didn’t see some of Omarosa (who he hates ) in what Meghan was doing.

When he spews liberal trash, he gets accolades from his peers in the media, but when he says something that might be construed as the least bit conservative, he is hung out to dry.

Quitting isn’t cancel culture. That’s him quitting. And his brand has always been to be offensive, that’s a model that comes with a lot of job turnover.
I could give a rat’s ass about the royals but did anyone see this performance by this Merkle bitch?

First I ever heard of this story.
That job was to entertain British ladies; can’t get enough princess stories for them. Quitting was the right thing to do, he can’t really need the scratch he’s got several other gigs and I’m sure he’ll land somewhere. It’s not like the questioned election integrity or broke a window in a rotunda or anything. And it just might cause a few people more people to stand up to the cancel culture gibberish.
Piers is alright when he is in England taking them to task for their inconsistencies, but when he was here, he was infuriating because he doesn’t really understand the American mindset or way of life, and so his criticisms of us were all hollow and superficial.
Maybe if he lived here for a couple decades before trying to tell us how to run our country, he might have come off as less of a clueless blowhard, but I don’t think he’s that patient.
It’s a pity that Pierced is so anti-Second Amendment, because he is so good on most other subjects.
i don’t always agree with him, but i admire the strength of his convictions. and he is dead right about Meghan: she’s a fabulist of the 1st order.
