Since Hollywood has run out of ideas, how about a sitcom called “Trash and the Pedigreed Train Wreck” about a floozy voiceover actress socialite-wannabe who marries into the royal family and hilarity ensues with their comic antics each week as their abrasive personalities clash with decorum and tradition.

When I was young I had this romantic attachment to the monarchy. Then I lived through the 80’s. The queen is a paragon of devotion to duty. Philips ok, though an infamous jerk. But Charles, Camilla, Diana, Andrew, Fergie, and now Harry and Megan are just eurotrash, or imported American-trash in the case of the latter
Well, it’s an unwinnable debate at this point. Di was her own brand of but nuts, but most women I’ve known aren’t thrilled with sons marrying older women. It may be an element of feeling like an older woman is competing for the maternal role. Or it may be a simple biological instinct that a woman whose peak fertility years are past isn’t the ideal vehicle for perpetuating the family genes.
Unless something happens like in the movie King Ralph, Harry and the Ho stand no chance of seeing the throne.
Now, what American would vote for her for anything? Oh, wait a minute....I just thought about some current officeholders, so I’ll take that back.
that Meghan is not exactly ‘genius’ material is she? like doing ‘Oprah’ is the level the royals live on. hardly! she seems to have wanted the cache of being royalty and the fame and hangers-on it brought - but also wanted characteristics of the Hollywood lifestyle - p r agents and tv interviews, flashy designer wardrobe, elitist woke opinions . like those 2 could ever co-exist. she could dress the part and smile the part - but ultimately was lacking the 2 important elements: dignity and dedication to service to Britain/the Commonwealth.

However, the Oprah interview might be seen as breaking the Mexit agreement.

I don’t think Wallace Simpson (the divorcee who married Edward VIII) ever got a royal title. While he was allowed to serve some minor positions as Duke, I don’t beleive she ever was.
