That road gets foggy in the morning.
I’ve had an accident where I crushed my left ankle. Tough. Still able to walk but limited in abilities. Lots of metal fused to bone and muscle.
Was 1997 and they first talked amputation.
“I’ve had an accident where I crushed my left ankle. Tough. Still able to walk but limited in abilities. Lots of metal fused to bone and muscle.”
My bad one happened in 1978 when I got dropped through a trap door, breaking my left foot and ankle in six places. Lost most of the flexibility of the ankle but was able to walk again. Also learned about “cast disease” where the muscles atrophy because of the immobility imposed by wearing a cast. Tiger’s going to have the same problem because both his tibia and fibula were completely broken, destroying the entire ability of his right leg to support any weight until they heal, a process that’s going to take a few months. By then his right leg’s muscles will be seriously atrophied, meaning he’ll need a lot of physiotherapy to regain their use. The damaged right ankle is also going to need a lot of work, meaning he’ll need somebody around the house to help him through the next few months.
