The problem is, the Republicans have for decades and decades proven to be entirely incapable of fighting against the dems. In fact, Establishment Republicans have proven again and again the only people they are willing to take on are Conservative outsiders who threaten to Primary and sitting Republican.
In those cases, they have employed democrat smear and destroy tactics that they have never ever employed against any democrat. Ever. Think about that for a moment.

Ditch being a primary [sic] example.
They remind me of degenerate gamblers insisting that they’re just about to turn things around. “Never mind that big WH bet at craps table. Look at all these penny slots we hit in the House!”
I guess it’s partially our fault for supporting these losers, but abandoning them is like trying to win a war through strategic surrender. I wish the GOP would just be honest enough to say, “We can’t win this war, but enjoy the little bit of time we’re buying you before total defeat.”
