Hundreds of protesters gathered outside a Staten Island bar a day after it was shut down and one of its owners arrested for publicly declaring itself an "autonomous zone" and not adhering to New York's COVID-19 measures.
The crowd stopped traffic outside Mac's Public House in Grant City Wednesday night, demanding it be allowed to open for business. Throughout the day and well into the night, sheriff's deputies stood outside the entrance of the bar, which was shut down after it insisted on continuing indoor food and drink service - leading to too many cease and desist orders and fines to keep track. An order to vacate was placed on the door Tuesday night.
But that didn't stop protesters from screaming in anger at not only the officers outside, but also Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for implementing the restrictions that prevented the bar from operating inside service. The bar is located in an orange zone, which bans all indoor dining.
Bar co-owner Keith McAlarney has kept his bar open the past two weeks that the orange zone has been in place on this section of Staten Island. He said he needed to stay open because it meant he'd be able to pay the bills and feed his family, but now is calling on other small businesses to join in his fight.
"It's time for all small businesses and every citizen, it's time to stand up and open up," McAlarney said. "All small businesses stand up. The citizens are there, they want you open. We need to make a living."

They will push these people until they all just go on about there lives and quit listening. When he tries to clamp down they will show up at his house with pitch forks. Sometimes I wonder if this is what they want to happen. Push as hard as they can.

These measures are a war on the “old” American middle class, and being used to replace it with another “diverse” one - the aid available to anyone who can “check a box” is far more than an American man can expect.
People are very vocal that every business selling cheap Red Chinese junk continues to operate unimpeded (big box places, which have far more potential to spread this virus than smaller places); I pity those losing their businesses and livelihoods (not just the owners, but the workers as well). The same governments shuttering their businesses are still collecting property taxes on them.
This is driving more Americans away from the densest areas, which probably is the goal; they are being rapidly replaced by a new foreign middle class (primarily Asian) and a new foreign lower class (primarily Hispanic) - and as this past election shows, these dense areas will choose our presidents (legally or otherwise).
It is time for violent resistance. The tyrants must be stopped or we will become slaves to their every power mad impulse.
A long term plan that’s Ben in place and is now being sped up by the use of the virus. Does that sound correct.
I wondered because this stuff is happening in some of the states the riots were happening in. I have a family member that went to NY to work on power lines a while back and he left, he said the Main Street there that used to be crowded 24/7 with people are now like a ghost town. People were riding dirt bikes up and down the road. He talked to the cops as they rode by and the cops just shrugged there shoulders and said they were told to do nothing.

I’ve seen that in Newark NJ; away from the transit hub/small downtown, there are more and more foreigners driving motorized vehicles (not so much dirtbikes, but unlicensed, uninspected homemade motorized bicycles and mini-motorcycles) openly in front of the few cops around. “Main Street” (the shopping district) died decades ago there, and after 5:00 pm the downtown is a ghost town - while throughout the wider city, the resdients are just starting to wake up around noon.

This has been a problem in many cities. Dirt bike gangs are out of control in Baltimore. And you can bet not one was actually purchased.
I saw two kids riding a four wheeler ATV on the freeway in DC a couple years ago. Not a care in the world. Protected class and stuff.
The solution is simple but stressful: Americans must breed, and pass along our unique culture (forged in the founding of this country) to our offspring. Too many don’t want to deal with the inconvenience and sacrifice involved; they’d rather fade quietly into the night after spending a lifetime paying the bills (through taxation) for their replacements. This isn’t something coming down the road at some future point; this is something that has already been going on for decades.
These areas are just reverting to resemble the homelands of the Third Worlders imported to keep them populated.
A couple of years ago on the news I saw a reporter interviewing a black woman in NYC; the woman was furious that new gubmint housing in NYC was being filled with Chinese and other Asians (she apparently thought that anyone who had lived in crumbling older gubmint housing should get dibs on the taxpayer-funded new places). There wasn’t a white face to be seen in the people milling around in the background; they’d been “replaced”.
How many of these dumps can even afford police anymore? The “defunding” has been a reality in many of them, in terms of the worst areas; any police the cities can afford have to be directed towards the last productive businesses and people left (or there would quickly be none).
Yet large leftist riots and protests are never hotbeds of COVID and are allowed to proceed.
I’m against interfering with traffic. I’m all for protests like this and would prefer they all request food and drinks and pay twice the tab as a donation. Then eat outside and screw anyone trying to say you can’t.
And now they have various color-coded “zones”, and they (governors, mayors, “health” directors, etc.) decide who can be open and who can’t. This is beyond insane. And STILL, fools here and elsewhere continue to support this crap, because of their own irrational, moronic, gutless fear of the COVID lies.
The tree of liberty is thirsty.
It’s time people. We are the true resistance. Resist. Paint “White lives matter” in the street. March in the streets with signs with the business’ Name on them. Do what is necessary!
But remember the cops are not on our side. They are slaves to the state.
Needs to spread across the country. Enough already.
