The Academy and Easter Outfitters near me both have a few AR platforms. The sales guy told me the ran out of .223 and 5.56 so people stopped buying the platforms. They have some ammo in now so I suspect the remaining AR platforms will go soon.
My roommate up in brownsville (I’m currently in Mexico) is an AR guy and he buys boxes of 520 rounds online. I’m actually an AK guy and I have greater difficulty finding ammo than him, but it still takes him days to find a single case.
On the other hand, I have a much easier time finding .45 auto than he does finding 9mm. Btw there’s no .45 ball anywhere. It’s all Hornady +P 220 grain ballistic tip. Costs more, but destroys more
