Has Crosby done anything worthwhile since Southern Cross?

Never liked CSNY - and that includes the solo stuff by Stills and Young. I like them even less now that this ugly, drug-addled walrus Crosby decided to share his BS.

David Crosby can take the “I’m the One” track by Van Halen and shove it up his arse.

David Crosby has always been a sanctimonious ass.

End of story.

First thing I thought of when I saw what Crosby Tweeted was “how could he?” Second thing was I thought of Paul McCartney’s reaction to John Lennon’s assassination. Probably not fair to McCartney though, but it just reminded me somehow.

Thank you for one of the best and most honest posts on this thread. Eddie played a few a VH tunes on acoustic, including the beginning of Take Your Whiskey Home and all of Could This Be Magic?. The man was thanked by Zappa for saving the guitar.

Crosby is remembered for doing time and being a jerk. 'Nuff said.

lol@ the old hippie still going on about Hendrix....these old guys from the 60’s...too funny. First off, Jeff Beck was doing the whole volume/distortion thing way before Hendrix did. Hendrix playing by modern standards is terrible...just a loud, distorted mess. Th songs were awful..the guy couldnt sing. Oh yea...lighting your guitar on fire, wow...cutting edge. Hes over rated and we all know why....EVH and Randy Rhoads set the modern day standards...no ones reached it since.

“I am David Croby’s liver. Bought and paid for. A slave in servitude to a vile, privileged old white man. I long for the days of my prior life where I wasn’t subject to abuse from the former organs that surrounded me. Crosby’s kidneys tell me they don’t want me. They miss their friend the old liver. The spleen is downright hateful because I like disco music and since I arrived they all can no longer party like they used to.”

I'm the One - Isolated Guitar

This has everything...chops, boogie, tone, swing, groove, brutality, flair, and swagger. It may be the best isolated guitar track ever, and Eddie isn't even my favorite guitarist.

I knew a guy that despised Crosby as a result of watching Crosby drive right past him as the guy I knew was hitch-hiking. For me, I wouldn’t fault Crosby but to this guy it was rank hypocrisy.

On the other hand, Graham Nash’s insolence at a concert, between songs, was my first experience of a performer berating a US President. I despise him for that.

Yep...Gram Parsons took over the Byrds basically in the wake of Gene Clark leaving in 65 then David Crosby getting fired for being an absolute prick (by Chris Hillman and Roger McGuinn at his own house).

Gene Clark was the Byrds heart and soul...wrote the songs and everybody got pissed because he was getting $80,000 checks and they were getting $5000 checks. He was a tough ass Ozark grew up without running water or indoor utilities and wasn’t up for playing games with Cali boys. In around 1970 he almost choked David Geffen to death in a restaurant because of his doubledealing and that really cost him no matter how much talent he had.

Back to Gram-what an unusual legacy. Southern Gothic Fatalistic upbringing being born unto immense wealth but both parents had committed suicide or drank themselves to death before he graduated HS.

Discovered Emmylou Harris, recorded his two solo albums with Elvis‘s band, left the Byrds to hang out with Keith Richards, legendary run with flying burrito Brothers only to be kicked out because of his multiple polytoxin lifestyle, was way too wasted during the exile on Main Street sessions and was asked to leave by Keith Richards when Keith was at the Zenith of his heroin habit himself...tough ass road he made not unlike Townes.

Tell you what-that man had heart and didn’t care if his fusion of Country with Rock sold quick as he and people around him knew he was doing something significant. He was still alive while the Eagles got popular and really resented it calling them a ‘dry plastic f*ck’...hard to disagree if you ever really listen to gram.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a DJ ahead of him in that ranking based on his ability to sample riffs. If you’ve seen the last 500 greatest albums of all time that came out recently you’ll see they’ve jammed in at least 5 to 10 rap albums ahead of several Beatles albums including Rubber Soul and a number of Bob Dylan‘s greatest efforts. Just a little more history erasing moving Kendrick Lamar and Cardi B ahead of Elvis as well...LOL

That track was sick! I am still kinda depressed about Eddie’s leaving us, and starting to feel my age.
