That’s what I thought too and appreciated the bind that a career official would be in knowing the illegal activities her superiors we’re engaged in, but being unable to do anything about it without jeopardizing her own career.
I imagined that Haspel was looking forward to blowing the whistle on all of them finally. We gave her too much credit. It’s starting to look like the CIA is an organization where the higher up the food chain you go, the less integrity you’ll find. Too much time in the swamp and echo chamber changes their internal programming, or they were recruited because they were blank slates and had no programming.
Or there is an investigative and/or indictment reason she’s being asked to hold it for. As I recall Trump gave the AG final authority to declas “man russia stuff” so he doesn’t need her permission.
It may just be the cover story.
