They actually sound reasonable. Besides the synthetic squalene is likely to be cheaper.

On the other hand, how much fish do sharks eat? And are they in competition with us for a limited supply. Maybe we should reduce shark populations.

I eat shark every once in a while, but it's not my favorite.

I would assume that thinning the shark population would have effects lie when they decided to thin wolf populations in several areas - caused way more problems than they solved....and I wager fewer eat wolf meat than shark meat.
