What is the significance of the number 40?

In the Bible, “40” signifies transformation, great change, new life, new growth.

For example:

The rain of the Great Flood lasted 40 days and nights.
Moses was atop Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights receiving the Law.
Jesus ascended into Heaven 40 days after His Resurrection from the dead.
The human gestation period for new life is around 40 weeks.

In the United States it’s been 40 years since Ronald Reagan’s monumental election, and now we are just over 40 days away from another historical election, in the year 2020 (yes, 20+20 = 40).

In 2016, Donald J. Trump shocked the nation and the world with Presidential election victory over heavy favorite, Hillary Clinton, easily the biggest upset in American political history. Trump overcame incredible obstacles to pull out the unlikely win. He was a lifelong businessman and showman, not a practiced politician. He took on perhaps the most impressive and largest field of primary opponents in the Presidential politics and punched his way to the top, knocking out one opponent after another, including the next “favorite son” of the Bush political dynasty.

Trump still faced headwinds from his own party’s establishment and took on the Clinton Machine. Even with the Mainstream Media and Hollywood elites all lining up behind Clinton and throwing everything they could at Trump, he stood strong. On Election Night, he pulled out one slim win after another in battleground state after state. Despite officially losing the Popular Vote, he pulled off a stunning Electoral College victory. Donald Trump, political novice, took on the entire establishment and beat them at their own game.

There is only one explanation of how and why this happened. Divine Providence. Trump campaigned on a Conservative Christian platform, and he has delivered on his promises and more. Despite the opposition never letting up from the political establishment, known as “The Swamp”, the media, Hollywood, etc., Trump has never wavered or faltered on his guiding principles.

God does not abandon those who don’t abandon Him.

From SpyGate to the Mueller investigation to the Impeachment, The Swamp and Deep State has failed time and again to bring Trump down, only to see the President emerge stronger each time.

When human efforts failed, the stakes were raised at the start of this tumultuous 2020 year, as we entered a new phase of the battle – open spiritual warfare. To discerning spirits, the battle of Good vs. Evil has been palpable. Whether Covid-19 was man-made or not, a biological weapon or not, it’s no coincidence it rolled out just as the Impeachment was imploding on The Swamp; however, the coordination and timing was beyond the work of humans.

Then, just as Covid was starting to wane, George Floyd was killed and the video went viral, as did the protests, which quickly turned into riots, looting, arson and tearing down of great and historical monuments. The country seemed to be spinning out of control, many gripped by fear and panic. How did all of this happen all at once? Yes, there was no doubt some human cooperation and conspiracy but again, the coordination and timing was beyond the work of humans.

Fear and panic often lead to prayer, and many prayers have been said and continue to be said for the nation and for the President.

God does not abandon those who don’t abandon Him.

Satan has taken his shots, just as he did with Job in the Old Testament, but ol’ Job hung in there and God repaid him by blessing him 7 times over.

The Hebrews were in bondage to the Egyptians for 400 years. Many had given up hope for liberation but their prayers were answered according to the timing of Divine Providence. God raised up Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, but many still did not believe despite seeing the miracles performed. The Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, leading the Egyptians to make many unwise, foolish decisions.

That is but one example of God blinding, either literally or figuratively, the enemy, so His people could emerge victorious.

Today, many cry out in prayer and have grown weary waiting for justice to be done in this nation. When will the Deep State criminals behind the scenes be brought down? When will traitorous members of the Swamp be exposed? When will those trying to destroy this country and the President be stopped?

The 40 Days are Here

The upcoming 40 Days leading up to the November 3, 2020 Election is going to be that time of transformation and great change, leading to new life and new growth. It won’t be pretty. At times it will be messy and scary but it’s much better to be in the Ark.

For 40 days, it’s going to “rain” news, events, and revelations that will flood the world of the establishment. Just as the confounded Egyptians ejected the Hebrews, then pursued them into the desert and perished as the Red Sea collapsed on them, so shall it be for the evildoers.

The coming deluge will include:

Continued deterioration of Joe Biden. It will soon be impossible to hide or cover up any longer.
Burisma/Biden Investigation revelations
John Durham Investigation “high profile developments” (which will pre-date Trump and cross party lines).
Jeffrey Epstein files, documents, media
General Flynn’s exoneration and revelations
And developments in other areas that the public at large is not even aware of at this time.

Finally, the confirmation of the next United States Supreme Court Justice.

Again, at times it will be frightening and scary, like it was for Noah during the flood. Like it was for the Hebrews being pursued by the Egyptian chariots, but remember:

God does not abandon those who don’t abandon Him.

Noah was mocked for 100 years, but God DID send the Flood and Noah and his family WAS saved.

The Hebrews were enslaved for 400 years, but God did not send Moses just to give them hope and fail.

God did not send Donald Trump to lead a political and spiritual revolution, only to fail when it’s just getting started.

I was taught (in sunday school and later in a college class) that 40 in the bible just meant "an extended period" or "a relatively large amount," and something not to be taken literally. Interesting to hear this other meaning.

FORTY
has long been universally recognized as an important number, both on account of the frequency of its occurrence, and the uniformity of its association with a period of probation, trial, and chastisement—(not judgment, like the number 9, which stands in connection with the punishment of enemies, but the chastisement of sons, and of a covenant people). It is the product of 5 and 8, and points to the action of grace (5), leading to and ending in revival and renewal (8). This is certainly the case where forty relates to a period of evident probation. But where it relates to enlarged dominion, or to renewed or extended rule, then it does so in virtue of its factors 4 and 10, and in harmony with their signification.

There are 15 such periods which appear on the surface of the Scriptures, and which may be thus classified:—

Forty Years of Probation by Trial:
Israel in the wilderness, Deut 8:2-5; Psa 95:10; Acts 13:18 (the third 40 of Moses’ life, 120 years).
Israel from the crucifixion to the destruction of Jerusalem.
Forty Years of Probation by Prosperity in Deliverance and Rest:
under Othniel, Judg 3:11,
under Barak, Judg 5:31,
under Gideon, Judg 8:28.
Forty Years of Probation by Prosperity in Enlarged Dominion:
under David, 2 Sam 5:4,
under Solomon, 1 Kings 11:42,

There are eight of such great periods on the surface of the Bible:

Forty days Moses was in the mount to receive the Law, Exo 24:18.
Forty days Moses was in the mount after the sin of the Golden Calf, Deut 9:18,25.
Forty days of the spies, issuing in the penal sentence of the 40 years, Num 13:26, 14:34.
Forty days of Elijah in Horeb, 1 Kings 19:8.
Forty days of Jonah and Nineveh, Jonah 3:4.
Forty days Ezekiel lay on his right side to symbolize the 40 years of Judah’s transgression.*
Forty days Jesus was tempted of the Devil, Matt 4:2.
Forty days Jesus was seen of His disciples, speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, Acts 1:3.
* Thus 40 becomes a number closely connected with Judah, as 390 (Eze 4:5) is the number of separated Israel. The significance of this will be seen (on p. 215), for 40 is a multiple of 8, and 390 is a multiple of 13. It may also be noted that 65 (5x13) is the number of Ephraim, while 70 is specially connected with Jerusalem.

That's also interesting. Doing a quick google search I see that many believe 40 (days, etc.) in the bible is often related to a time of testing. This can be related to the period need for "transformation, great change, new life, new growth," as well as to a period of testing for disease.
