When I moved, a few items never made it here. I suspect they found new homes in the movers' residences. One of the things I really miss is my electric staple/brad gun. Not that I do heavy-duty contractor work (ha!), but it was nice to have staples driving into wood or upholstery or molding which didn't depend on my personal strength or the size of my hands. Whap! Whap! Whap! and my project would be done.
I cannot remember which staple/brad gun I had. The contenders for a new one are Arrow T50AC, DeWalt 5 in 1 multi tacker, and Stanley TRE550Z. My research informed me that Arrow and possibly Stanley are made in China, so I'd like to avoid enriching China. But I've read that the DeWalt doesn't measure up to the usual DeWalt quality. I have a DeWalt drill which I love, so I'm leaning toward the DeWalt.
Do any of you have experience with any of these 3 tools? Do you like them? Thanks for any insights.
I have a dozen or so DeWalt tools that are great. My experience with Stanley is “OK”. I have zero experience with Arrow.
I personally would buy DeWalt. That’s just me.
Only experience with DeWalt. No problems. Hammer drill. Small drill. Buffer. Grinder.
I LOVE my DeWalt tools. All of them.
I suffered for years with old, nasty, corded power tools given to me or acquired from friends or family.
I convinced my wife to allow me to buy a suite of battery powered tools, and it has been utter joy for me for years now.
I am sure there are other manufacturers who make good tools, but my DeWalts are reliable and virtually indestructible, it seems. I have dropped them onto concrete from a ladder, and I have thought “No way is that going to function, but...it did...with only a cosmetic scuff where it hit the ground.
Love it. I regret all those years without them!

I just bought a Kobalt 80v battery powered chainsaw and it’s where have you been all my life? I get 45 minutes to an hour out of each battery. More torque and power than comparable gas. Hit the button instant power. Darn gas Stihl I would have to keep running while moving around logs afraid it might not restart.
Got sick and tired of the tempermental gas Stihl.
Kobalt made in China though. I had to hold my nose though right now all are I believe.
I use deWALT and Porter Cable. Have a few strays.
DeWalt is what I buy and use. Renovated a whole house using DeWalt tools.
What difference does it make? When you use made in China brads they are going to bend or not go all the way in.
Assembled in the USA from Chinese, Mexican, Brazilian et al parts. Might as well been made in China.
Stanley Tool Works (or Stanley/Black & Decker) owns DeWalt and Porter/Cable. Ridgid and Milwaukee are owned by a different company but are managed separately. I suspect even if assembled in the US many are made with foreign components. It may be difficult to know which are.
I’ve pretty much stuck with Dewalt. Updated from the 18V stuff to the 20V kit of drill, impact drive, recip saw and utility light about 5 years ago. Have a few other Dewalt items as well. No complaints. Stuff just runs.
Buy ‘em all.
It is hard to find products not made in China. I know, because I have been shopping like that for years now.
Sure, you can find things, but in some cases, the cost differential for comparable feature sets is significant, sometimes, exorbitantly so.
I just spent $2500 on a 3D printer in the late spring, and I was determined not to buy a Chinese one. I didn’t, and the printer is a pretty good one, but...it took a lot of effort and looking.
This is why we need an across the board import tariff.
Dewalt fan as well.
Also, they make it nearly impossible to tell now where a product is made. And on Amazon, I believe they deliberately hide it.
I have tried a bunch of “Made in America” websites, but I have found none of them useful.
There must be a way to do this.
Love my Dewalt drills, screw guns and circular saw. Just keep one thing in mind. Arrow has been doing all things staple longer than some of the other companies have been in business.
I was partial to De Walt myself.
Most DeWalt tools are very good but also very expensive and I have a DeWalt sander that I hate and it tore up way before it should’ve. I’ve had good luck with the Arrow brand staplers but they’re not electric.
